I. types of artificial stone

(1) materials used in production

Artificial marble is mainly divided into: cement artificial marble, resin artificial marble, composite artificial marble and sintered artificial marble.

Among the four methods of making artificial marble, polyester type artificial marble is the most commonly used one, which has the best physical and chemical functions, easy design of patterns, reproducibility, and is suitable for various uses, but the price is absolutely high; cement type artificial marble is the cheapest, but its anti-corruption performance is poor, and it is easy to show micro cracks, and it is suitable for plate but not suitable for sanitary ware; composite type artificial marble is suitable for sanitary ware. Combining the advantages of the former two, it has both good physical and chemical properties and low cost; although sintered artificial marble only uses clay as adhesive, it needs to be baked at high temperature, so it has large energy consumption, high cost and high product damage rate.

(2) it is classified as:

1. Acrylic: a kind of chemical resin synthetic material, clean, mostly used for kitchen table, easy to form, waterproof, no color difference, but easy to scratch.

2. Synthetic stone: it is made of marble powder and resin, with firm texture.

3. Microcrystalline: the main component is similar to glass products. It is bright and clean in name, magnificent in color and hard in texture. It is mainly used for laying the ground, but it is not easy to be reprocessed because of its hard texture and high in price.

4. Terrazzo: however, it has poor corrosion resistance and is prone to micro cracking. It is suitable for plate but not for sanitary ware.

II. Characteristics of artificial stone

(1) rich color, everything. There are solid colors, such as white, yellow, black, red, etc. There is also hemp color. On the basis of the clean color board, different colors and sizes of particles are added to create a variety of colorful color effects. It has a wide range of options.

All tools and mechanical equipment for woodworking can be used for the production and processing of artificial stone. It can be bonded (with special glue, all kinds of worktops can be connected "seamless"), bent and processed into various shapes, which is incomparable with natural stone.

(5) the structure is compact, clean and sanitary. There are natural micropores in the natural stone. When making the countertop of the cabinet, nutrients such as vegetable soup are easy to penetrate into it and breed bacteria. However, the structure of the artificial stone is compact, without micropores, liquid substances can't penetrate into it and bacteria can't grow in it. Therefore, it's reasonable for some businesses to treat the artificial stone as "antibacterial stone".
